Career Politicians are in the Business of Making Promises. However, are Lacking in Conviction to Keep those Promises.

Dear Texans,

Politicians are known for making promises and failing to keep them. Especially career politicians who maintain job security by creating more problems, staying silent or remaining lukewarm on important issues. A true leader must have a very important attribute that sets them apart; that attribute is CONVICTION. When a leader leads with conviction, they cannot be silenced, bought, or swayed by obstacles or money. Their campaign is a calling with a vision; a vision that sets them on a mission to accomplish a goal and a purpose. A true leader sees leadership as a selfless and sacrificial undertaking. An undertaking that involves upholding truth and defending what is sacred and precious such as the lives and values of their constituents.

Before a Politician officially assumes their position as a Government official or Officer, they swear an Oath to uphold and defend the United States Constitution. This oath of office symbolizes a formal pledge signifying a commitment to uphold the responsibilities and obligations of the position, and often includes a promise to support and defend a specific governing document like the Constitution.

The truth is, without Conviction, there is no genuine commitment. Genuine commitment only comes when there is conviction. It is for this very reason why we have failed leadership because many politicians run for office with no Conviction. Their oath of office is meaningless and void because they lack the conviction to commit to their oath.

A leader who has conviction, even if their conviction is based on lies, will be more effective at pushing their agenda forward than a leader with no conviction who knows the truth. Even if you know the truth, you must believe the truth with conviction for it to be effective. This is exactly what faith is all about. Faith is a relentless conviction in something you believe in so much that you are willing to act on it no matter the cost. Conviction is something much higher than yourself. Conviction is faith and faith is conviction. Conviction is a higher calling within each and everyone of us that leads us to our purpose. Everyone should have conviction, especially if they are looking to lead others.

Most people often wonder why the Democratic establishment has been so “effective” and “committed” in their destructive agenda against our Constitution. The fact is, although the democratic establishment is on the wrong side of things when it comes to their policies, judgments, and tactics, they are slaves to their conviction of lies. The democratic establishment is relentless in their convictions and therefore will stop at nothing to accomplish their agenda. As far as they are concerned, the end justifies the means, and it is by any means necessary that they wish to accomplish their goals. They are unapologetic, even in the face of failure, they present a united front, and pursue their opponents with every political weapon available to subdue them. It is diabolical to say the least but, in all fairness, they do have Conviction. It is a shameless and defiant religion of win by any means necessary.

Then, you look at the Republican establishment before President Trump, and you see cowards. I mean cowards. Men who know the truth and have the power to do something about it, but shiver like little chicks in a cold barn. Leaders who know the truth and yet lack the conviction to stand for the truth and defend it are not leaders but cowards. They just see their positions as a means to an end. They just want power and are not willing to sacrifice for the oath that they took to uphold and defend the United States Constitution.

A leader is ineffective when they know the truth but LACK CONVICTION to see it through. A corrupt leader is “effective” at pushing their agenda when they lead with conviction, even if the truth is not on their side.

It is very obvious and indisputable that before President Trump came on the scene, the Republican party was slowing fading away. By the grace of Almighty God, President Trump came on the scene with conviction, spirit, determination, and vision that could not be silenced or bought. President Trump had a strong conviction, that our nation was in serious trouble and needed to be made Great Again. His conviction was his vision and he stood on principle and spoke the truth and with that, he set himself on a mission to save America and restore our nation’s Constitution. This is leadership with conviction.

A true leader is willing to sacrifice and face insurmountable obstacles because they are not in it for themselves, they are responding to a call that is higher than themselves. President Donald Trump is a true leader. God called him, he answered and God delivered him from the snares and schemes of his enemies. God made President Trump’s enemies his footstool. Thank you President Trump for answering God’s call to restore America.

Another leader comes to mind whom I am challenging in the 2026 Republican Primary election, this leader is Incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas. Senator Cornyn has an impressive resume. I respect his academic and professional achievements.

  • Here are some key highlights of Senator John Cornyn's Career

  • U.S. Senator for Texas: (2002-Present)

  • Assistant Minority Leader: (2018-Present)

  • Texas Attorney General: (1999-2002)

  • Justice of the Texas Supreme Court: (1990-1992)

  • Texas State Senator: (1985-1990)

  • County Judge of Bexar County, Texas: (1983-1985)

Although these achievements are significant and nothing to sneeze at, Senator John Cornyn has shown through his words and actions that he lacks conviction to continue in a position of leadership as U.S. Senator for the great state of Texas.

In an article by People Inc, Senator John Cornyn is quoted to have said, “Republican Senator from Texas Compares His Relationship with Trump to a Bad Marriage: 'He Is Who He Is'"

According to the People, Inc online article, Sen. John Cornyn likened his complicated relationship with President Donald Trump to a woman who is unable to change her spouse.

The 68-year-old Republican from Texas, who openly disagrees with Trump on issues such as the deficit and U.S.-Mexico border security but has a history of voting in support of the president in Congress, described their relationship to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram.

"Maybe like a lot of women who get married and think they're going to change their spouse, and that doesn’t usually work out very well," Cornyn said.

"I think what we found is that we’re not going to change President Trump," he said. "He is who he is. You either love him or hate him, and there's not much in between. What I tried to do is not get into public confrontations and fights with him because, as I’ve observed, those usually don’t end too well."

Cornyn also told the outlet he prefers to air out his issues with Trump "privately," pointing to former Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker as having retired in 2018 after experiencing a turbulent relationship with the president. “I have found that has allowed me to be much more effective, I believe, than to satisfy those who say I ought to call him out or get into a public fight with him," he said.

When a person lacking in conviction finds one who has conviction, the one without conviction views it as a threat and feels exposed. President Trump’s strong sense of conviction exposed Senator Cornyn’s lack of conviction as a leader. Senator Cornyn compares himself to be a woman trying to change her husband. This statement is very revealing because it indicates that Senator Cornyn sees himself as weak and ineffective as to liken himself to a woman trying to unsuccessfully change her husband. It is Senator Cornyn’s job to represent the people of Texas not try to change President Trump.

As Senator Cornyn rightfully noted, “He is who he is.” In other words, a man with conviction is a man with conviction. Their conviction is the essence of who they are and if they give up their conviction, it as though they have given up their purpose for existing. President Trump’s conviction is what motivates him and what wakes him up from bed every morning. He lives for his convictions and has proven to the world that he is willing to lay down hos life for his convictions.

President Trump showed the world that he was deserving and has earned his place as the real and true leader of these United States of America. He nearly missed death by a matter of seconds at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania and got right back up and stated, “fight, fight, fight.” Senator Cornyn, President Trump is a leader with conviction and you can never take that away from him. He lives for his convictions and that is why he is a great leader.

I have always admired President Trump for his bold conviction and stance on upholding and defending the Constitution. President Trump is truly keeping his oath of office, unlike many politicians who have simply betrayed their constituents for their own gain. President Trump single-handedly transformed our U.S. Supreme Court when he appointed three pro-life supreme court Justices in his first term. This was truly a historic moment for our nation and the beginning of the restoration of Life back to our nation’s founding as it led to the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, ending the constitutional right for a woman to abort her baby.

Just like President Trump, I will take my oath seriously because I will lead with conviction. Our nation is in need of leaders who will fight for our values and our founding principles. A leader lacking in conviction will betray the people of Texas. This is not just any campaign, it is our calling together to set a precedent that is different from our past. To uphold our rights to Life, Liberty, and Happiness for all Americans and return God’s blessings back to America.

“Senator John Cornyn, thank you for your time in service. The people of Texas are ready for a change. The people of Texas want to see LIFE, LIBERTY, and HAPPINESS.” - Anna Bender
